vacation

We enjoy traveling, both within Texas and throughout North America. Interesting places we have been include Florida, Maine, Connecticut, Arizona, Oregon, Washington state, Alaska, California, Tennessee, Mexico City, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver. As of June 2009, I have put up a wiki for the group to plan trips, keep notes, and stay in touch. Reading is open to everyone, but membership is by invitation only.

Alaska

During June 2002, we went on the Inland Passage cruise out of Seattle. This was our first cruise, but certainly will not be our last. Holland America could not have provided a more pleasant and enjoyable first cruise experience. Everything about the trip was first rate, from the accommodations to the food to boarding and disembarking. We visited Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, and Glacier Bay. The weather was perfect throughout the trip.

We had such a good time, we went back in 2004. This time, we sailed from Vancouver, BC. We went up a day early so we would have a bit of time to see the city and enjoy the attractions there. Stanley Park was very enjoyable. After an absolutely fantastic time on the cruise, we spent another day walking around downtown Vancouver before we returned home.

We went back again in 2008 and sailed from Seattle. Just as much fun as the first time. Had a very nice visit with my brother after the cruise. Gotta get some pix posted!

Arizona

Sedona We have visited Arizona in the summer several times, but had not been there during the winter months. We went to Sedona in late February. Unfortunately, we picked the weekend that one of the worst winter storms in several years was there. It was an adventure, to say the least!

Dallas

The Dallas world aquarium is a prime example of what happens when a hobby gets out of control!. There are flora and fauna from all around the world. Now operating as a privately owned exhibition, it is also available for receptions and meetings.
